Dial-up Error 630, 692, 680

When connecting to the Internet, you receive error 630, 692 or 680 when attempting to make a dial-up connection, and you have call minder service enabled by Telecom.

If you have Call Minder and you have problems connecting to the Internet you may have messages waiting.

Some of the error messages you might get if you have messages waiting are: No Dial Tone, Error 630 the computer is not receiving a response from the modem, Error 692 Hardware failure in port or attached device. When you try to dial out, you may experience several repeated tones and then receive one of the following error messages: No Dial Tone Error 680 hardware failure.
NOTE: The number in the error message may be 630 or 692 instead of 680

To correct this problem, you should check your messages and clear them before you attempt to re-connect to the Internet.
