I can't connect - Error 691
Keywords: dialup connect problem, error 691, no dial tone
When connecting to the Internet, you may get the error 691, although your username and password are showing correctly.
New Password
If you have recently changed your password, make sure you delete the old password, and type in your new password.
CAPSLOCK is on
If you have your capslock on, when typing your password, this may prevent you from connecting. Passwords are case sensitive. If your password is all in lower-case, unlock the capslock, and retype your password again. It is a good idea to delete and retype both the username and password, to ensure you are indeed typing the password in lower-case.
Windows has forgotten your password
Because your dial-up password is stored in your computer, it is possible for the password list to become corrupt. Delete and retype both your username and password, this will refresh the password list in Windows.
