Complete instructions for setting up FreePPP to connect a Macintosh to the Net. Also includes a Free copy of FreePPP.

| SETTING UP YOUR MACINTOSH CONNECTION |

We recommend you use Free PPP 2.6. You can download the software by clicking on Download Free PPP 2.6 under related links.
Double click to run Free PPP 2.6 Setup icon.
Then follow the prompts to install, and then restart your computer.
Once your computer has re-started select Open Free PPP Setup from the phone icon at the top-right of your menu bar.
This should present you with a small window. Then click the small triangle (at the Bottom left corner) to open the window fully.
Check that all the settings below the General tab are the same as the below picture:
Then click the Accounts tab.
Which will change the screen, similar to the below picture.
Click Edit to edit the current connection.
Enter Orcon in the Account name field.
Enter your Username and Password in the spaces provided.
Click on the Dialup Tab along the top, and enter your local dialup number. To look up your local dialing number, click here.
Click OK when finished.
Click on the Modem tab in the FreePPP setup window, then click on Edit.
Enter required settings for your modem
If your modem manufacturer doesn't supply a modem initialisation string, we recommend using the default string: AT&F&C1&D2
It gets around most problems you might encounter.
Click OK when Completed.
Close the FreePPP setup window.

Open the TCP/IP Control Panel, found under the Apple menu (top left of your screen), then in the Control Panels folder.
Make TCP/IP active if it prompts you to, then enter the following details into the window:
1. Make sure FreePPP is selected under the Connect via menu.
2. Close and save the window once completed.
